The whole family had a great trip to CCW in Kentucky and I was able to get a get OLD buck!  What a trophy!  G.O. had a really great encounter the very last day in the last 10 minutes of the hunt with a huge buck, but it never gave him a shot!  Maybe next year!  The second rut is on here in GA and we still have a tag burning a hole in my pocket and Gunner is still waiting on his opportunity!

This past week Haley, G.O. and the kids have been hunting in their home state of Georgia!  But now it's time to pack up all the gear and load up the kids for our annual family trip to CCW Outfitters in Kentucky!!  Rifle season just started and the bucks are in full rut!  

Come join me today, Saturday October 30th, at Cabelas right outside of Dallas, Texas!  I'll be there from 10-12 along with the Remington truck!  See you there!

This week, G.O. and I went to Texas first and had an incredible hunt!  I killed a big 10 pointer with my Remington model 700 .270 then we went out with the Bear bows and Remington R15 .223 and got three javelinas and four hogs!!  We had a great time!  

After the success we had in Texas, we packed up camp and headed for Santa Fe Outfitters in Colorado.  The cold front was just coming in and we started to get snow but the bulls were still high.  On the last day we went up 11,500 ft. elevation and hunted on the continental divide. Right away, a bull responded and G.O. ended the week with a bang on a great 6X6 bull!!  

Now home for pumpkin carving with the kids before heading out to Kansas!

The weather finally cooled down in GA and the deer are moving so the kids and I (Haley) decided to head out for the Sportsman Condo in hopes that Gunner would kill his first deer with his Remington!  G.O. decided to head to one of his favorite spots for the evening hunt and do a little scouting.  Well low and behold, a nice buck came right under his stand and G.O. decided to fill a tag.  Then after knocking him down, two more bucks came running in and G.O. was able to shoot another buck with his Bear Attack bow and Rage broadheads!  Two P&Y whitetails in one night!  Now it's time to hit the road headed to Texas then Colorado, for monster deer and monster elk!

This week we have been hanging stands, checking our Moultrie trail cameras, and managing our doe population with our Bear bows!  Weather is right and the weekend is looking promising for filling more tags!  Check back next week for pictures from our weekend's success!
